ALIGNMENTS
A wheel alignment assures optimal drivability! A vehicles wheel alignment needs to be checked because, over time, the wheel angles can change. This can happen as a result of normal wear of various rubber bushings in the vehicle suspension, sagging of the springs or after hitting large potholes or curbs, as well as after accidents. Vehicles with improper wheel alignment conditions can suffer a decrease in fuel efficiency by up to 7%. Wheels out of alignment cause your tires to drag sideways creating dangerous driving conditions and unnecessary wear on tires. We recommend an alignment after any change in your vehicles suspension or after any large impact to your wheels or suspension.
DIAGNOSTICS
Your vehicle is been equipped with an On-Board Diagnostics System that monitors engine performance. Discrepancies in performance levels are reported through your vehicle’s computer system. If your “check engine” or “service engine” light is displayed, bring your vehicle in and we'll hook it up to our state of the art diagnostic system to determine what the problem is.
The insights obtained during the engine diagnostic will determine the extent of suggested engine repairs.
While regular engine maintenance will help ensure that your engine always performs at peak conditions, there are also signs you can look for that indicate an engine repair service is needed.
Most of the time, your vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostics System will detect an engine issue and store the corresponding repair code, which can be accessed by a member of our service staff. Slow-cranking, rough idling, stalling, knocking, or pinging while accelerating are all signs that you should seek engine repairs or engine diagnostics to determine the full extent of your engine trouble.

ABOUT US
Lake City Automotive has been serving the Lakes Region of New Hampshire since 1959. Originally opened by William Hawkins and Bob Wilkinson, the business was located in several different locations on Union Avenue for many years. In 1989, the business was passed down to William's son, Bill Hawkins. As the business grew, a new building was constructed in 1982 at 517 Union Avenue where the body shop remained a well known and respected Lakes Region establishment.
Today, the business is owned by Mike Nealon, who purchased the it from the Hawkins family in 2009. Lake City Automotive offers restoration, repair and now has a full time automotive mechanic! With the growth of the business and the need for more space, Mike moved the shop to it's current, 3,600 square foot, state of the art location of 332 Hounsell Avenue.
Mike has made it his mission to carry on the long standing tradition of quality work and professional service that the Lakes Region has been accustomed to from Lake City Automotive for almost 60 years!
